The Great British Bake Off’s Lottie Bedlow has urged wannabe bakers to apply for next year’s series after her life-changing time in the tent.
Lottie was the latest star eliminated after a particularly tricky 80s week, where the team battled against the heat of the tent on the hottest day of the year to make ice cream cake showstoppers.
Unfortunately, Lottie melted under the pressure, and after several weeks in the danger zone, she was finally sent home.
But she regrets nothing, and in the now traditional goodbye letter posted online, Lottie wrote: ‘Where to start?!
‘What an amazing ride this has been. Thank you so much to everyone for your incredible and unexpected love and support – it has meant the world to me to react to all your messages and to see you trying out my bakes!’
‘I came out of the tent feeling more confident in my baking skills than I ever thought possible and that was all down to the tireless encouragement and coaching from the other bakers, judges, presenters and crew,’ she continued.
‘I love you all so very much. To anyone thinking of applying: DO IT!’
Signing off, she left two key notes of advice and said: ‘If you make mistakes, laugh at them. Tie your hair back. Lots of love, Lottie.’
As it happens, if you want to take part, the show is accepting applications already for 2021.
While Lottie was sent home, Hermine won star baker – meaning everyone in the tent has now one once.
Next week the remaining five contestants will be fighting for their place in the semi-finals with Dessert Week.
It includes a jelly-injecting showstopper and an old-timey technical – with Laura seemingly facing disaster and dropped her cake in the episode teaser.
Will she have done enough to keep herself safe?
The Great British Bake Off airs Tuesdays at 8pm on Channel 4.
